Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) is the international airport in Azerbaijan located 20 km (12 miles) northeast of the capital Baku. It is served by major airlines including Aeroflot, Austrian Airlines, BMI, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa and Qatar Airways, and a whole host of smaller airlines. The airport is linked to Baku by two highways, Airport Highway and Zigh- Airport Highway. An efficient taxi and bus service links the international airport with the main hotels and residential areas.

The Baku International Seaport
The Baku International Seaport provides marine communication with the ports of Astrakhan (Russia), Aktau (Kazakhstan) and Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan). In the meantime, pleasure maritime rides are also offered throughout the day.
The Baku Subway
Two subway lines with 23 operating stations are currently functioning in the city. The entrance to subway is by cards, the fare for one time ride is 20 qapik. Icherisheher, Sahil and May 28 stations are located amidst the downtown. The Baku Subway Map
Buses
Buses constitute another popular type of the municipal public transportation. Itineraries are indicated on the electronic tableaus installed on the buses. Bus fare varies from 20 to 50 qapik. Bus communication with other towns, countryside areas and neighboring states is available at the Baku International Bus Terminal. Tickets are sold at the Terminal.
The Baku Railway Station
The Baku Railway Station is located at the May 28 subway station providing railroad communication with various regions within Azerbaijan and beyond.
Taxi
A series of special taxis operated by licensed companies which can be found at the airports, hotels or booked by phone, Baku airport taxi is available 24/7. From the international airport and the main shopping centers most of the special taxis work on a fixed fare by area which is paid in advance at the company's counter above which the fare price must be displayed.TX4 make London Cabs may be ordered anytime at *9000. The fare is 70 qapik per 1 kilometer for the distance of 10 km., 40 qapik per kilometer for the distance up to 20 km., and 20 qapik per kilometer for the distance exceeding 20 km.
